Scholarships

Through its scholarship programme, the United Nations Women’s Guild Geneva (UNWG Geneva) supports children and young people in completing their secondary education. The initiative is designed to assist students whose families are unable to afford school fees, as well as orphaned children, helping them gain access to education and future opportunities.

The programme provides financial support for schooling and, where appropriate, vocational training. Scholarships are typically awarded to defined cohorts of students and may support their studies for periods of up to five years, enabling them to complete their secondary education.

The initiative is primarily funded through the UNWG Children’s Walk and other fundraising activities organised by the Guild.

To date, UNWG Geneva has supported students in more than 20 countries through this programme. Applications are submitted by UNWG Geneva members and are carefully reviewed by the Projects Sub-Committee before final approval by the Executive Committee.
