SUMMARY:Invitation to Visit the Studio of Séverin Guelpa
DESCRIPTION:Dear Members\, \nWe are pleased to invite you to a special visit to the studio of artist Séverin Guelpa on Friday\, 7 November\, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.\nThis unique event will welcome up to fifty participants. On this occasion\, the artist has kindly offered to host us with a Swiss-style breakfast in a warm and friendly atmosphere.\Séverin Guelpa’s work is rooted in fragile\, exposed\, and threatened territories—those areas of the globe where the tensions between nature\, resources\, economy\, and human survival are most intense. For several years\, he has explored deserts\, arid zones\, industrial spaces\, and transitional geographies to extract a form of physical and poetic truth. \nHis approach is based on immersion\, often through long-term residencies or expeditions\, during which he settles in\, observes\, collects\, and documents. At the intersection of artistic expression and fieldwork\, Guelpa explores the complexity of a territory through images (video and photography)\, sound recordings\, and the collection of raw materials (stone\, soil\, minerals\, water\, metal)\, which are later reused in his installations.
